Hi everyone and welcome to Alyssa's blog. This page has been designed to update you on Alyssa's progress. Her surgery to close her VSD (hole in her heart) is scheduled for Monday, July 16th (changed to Tuesday, July 17th) at 12:00 (changed to 7:30a.m.). Thursday, July 19th

Alyssa is still doing wonderful. She has been moved out of intensive care and is now on the 6th floor, Room 510. She is taking formula and all I.V.'s have been removed (one of them by Alyssa herself!). Alyssa is awake today and has regained her unfavorable attitude towards doctors and nurses. She is sitting, reading books with mommy and daddy, watching tv, and sleeping. She should be home soon!

What??!! She's sitting up and reading books!! She's incredible. Children really are so resilient and her having the best parents helps too!
Way to go Alyssa! Thanks for the updates Heath.

She looks awesome! SHe looks so comfortable with her feet up and listening to a story! She and Nathan have a lot in common. He, too pulled out one of his lines the second day. Those two are tough little ones and are going to keep us busy!!!
I am so glad that she is doing well! We are continuing to pray for all of you!
